CD Review

When I wrote my article, “There’s Something About Henry” a couple of months ago; my quest was to find the answer as to what made Mr. Turner so unique in today’s music industry!! I found many answers to that question, and I wrote them in my article. However, I don’t have to wonder what makes his CD titled “Louisiana Funk, and Soul”, so endearing to all who may have had the honor of hearing it already.
Each song that Henry performs on his CD will seep into your subconscious, and stay with you for a very long time. Every one of Henry’s songs is an entire three or, four minute story that unfolds in your mind as you are listening to them. Henry’s songs have a way of transporting you to another place, and time that perhaps you have already lived through at one point in your life.

Henry’s music on this CD, and so many other songs I’ve had the privilege of playing on my radio show can have you up on your feet dancing around your office or, his ballads can have you reliving an old “Love Affair” from days gone by. His music evokes so many different emotions in you that you want to laugh one second, and they can open up a flood gate of tears in the next breath; because, you can identify so closely with each 20 mg lexapro heart rendering word that is searing your heart with love’s hot embers, that have never truly died within you.

Henry Turner Jr. is one of the twenty first century’s greatest singer/songwriters on this planet, and don’t ever make the mistake of thinking you can pigeon hole Henry by saying he can only perform one genre of music. Henry is one musician who has a way of capturing the pure essence of every genre of music he chooses to perform.

When I listen to such songs as “Love Me or, Leave Me” I hear a man telling someone he loves with all of his being that he just can’t go on living in his world without his lady right there by his side forever to be his wife. As the listener of this song you find yourself screaming in your own mind for his lady to just give it up to her man, and marry him.

One of the most prolific songs lyrically on this CD is titled, “Seasons of Life”. After the first two lines of this song you realize just how profound these lyrics really are. Henry truly captures the heart of every living being with the words, “My Seasons Will Change” throughout my entire life span. This song is a classic in the making for many years down the road. Henry makes you feel just what he feels emotionally when he performs this song; for you too will find yourself wishing you could help Henry change the world through the wonderful power of music. Henry’s brand of music could heal this broken land if he could make that march that was made eons ago now. For Mr. Turner’s dream is still alive in all he generic amoxil does to see his brothers, and sisters come together through the music that heals the broken spirit within.

Henry Turner Jr. is one of those rare shining stars who has no idea that his greatness lies in the fact that he honestly doesn’t realize just how great he is: Henry Turner will always shine brightly in this music industry as he too is that quiet force to be reckoned with at all times. Always remember folks the fact that this man is always the consummate professional, who can take you from searching the very depths of your soul one minute to having you laughing yourself into a mild coma the next minute when he performs his tongue-n-cheek song like, “Big Butt Girl”. From the opening line of this song you find yourself picturing an entire entourage of nothing but well rounded ladies, giving the very well loved fellow in this song one fine send off by marching him downtown New Orleans style, singing his favorite song on his way to his final resting place. It is one of those get up, and slap yo mama feel good kind of fun loving songs.

As all of my CD Review readers over the years have known; I never insult an artist by telling them that they sound just like another artist. So, when you hear Henry Turner Jr. sing you will hear echo’s of such greats as, “Barry White”, “Luthor Van Dross”, “Teddy Pendergrass”, and even a hint of the king of Reggae himself, “Mr. Bob Marley”. It’s the combination of all these greats combined that make up one very unique individual who can sing the feathers off of an Eagle in mid flight.

Henry is so much more than ear candy for our hearing pleasure folks. This is one extremely talented musician, singer, songwriter, and his stage presence is one of pure majesty that demands your undivided attention when he performs. When Henry decides to really showcase his own style of guitar prowess on his song, “Home Again”, you hear so many genre’s all in one song from light jazz, to some serious “George Clinton” funk thrown in for good measure.

So, now that I’ve given all of you my chosen four songs off of “Louisiana Soul, and Funk” do yourselves the biggest favor you can ever do for yourselves, and visit the Henry Turner Jr.& Flavor website at: WWW.MYSPACE.COM/HENRYTURNERJRANDFLAVOR, and order your own copy of “Louisiana Soul, and Funk” to have in your favorites collection. Trust me folks you’ll thank me when you do. And, please bear in mind that Henry has so many more songs that I simply could not showcase in this CD Review.
